Join us in shaping the future of sustainable propulsion

Do you enjoy turning complex data into actionable insights? Are you excited by applying data science and AI to support the green transition? If you’re passionate about using data to solve real engineering challenges and working with purpose, we’d love to hear from you.

At Everllence, we are pioneers in advanced propulsion technologies. We develop the control systems and digital solutions behind the world’s largest two-stroke engines – systems that now support operation on carbon-neutral alternative fuels. Data, simulation, edge ML, LLM integration, and advanced analytics are becoming increasingly important enablers in our company's mission to move big things to zero.

About the Role

As an R&D Data Scientist in our Engine Control Systems team, you will help unlock the value of data across the entire Engine Control Systems function. Working closely with Everllence R&D engineers, technical specialists, and operators you will transform operational, simulation, and test data into actionable insights that strengthen engineering decisions.

You’ll be entrusted with exploring complex datasets, identifying patterns and opportunities, and developing analytical solutions that engineers can trust and use. Your work may range from data preparation, exploratory analysis, and visualization to machine-learning models, virtual sensors, optimization algorithms, and decision-support tools. You will support initiatives across core engine controls, emission reduction technologies, alternative fuels, diagnostics, simulation, verification, and future digital products, while establish robust approaches to data quality and model validation.

This is a role for someone who finds satisfaction in making complex engineering data understandable and useful, enjoys close collaboration across disciplines, and wants to leave a tangible mark on how data science and AI enable the next generation of marine two-stroke engines and related systems.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us – professionally and personally – as we expand the use of data science and AI within two-stroke propulsion technology. You might already have experience applying data science in an engineering environment, or you might be at an earlier stage in your career and ready to take on significant challenges. Either way, what matters most is that you’re motivated by solving real-world problems and enjoy seeing data translated into reliable insights, models, and working solutions. Because the results may inform safety-critical evaluations, you understand the importance of high-confidence outputs, uncertainty assessment, and being able to identify and communicate when the available evidence or model confidence is insufficient to support a decision.

Success in this role means developing a deep understanding of complex engineering data, identifying patterns and opportunities, and translating your findings into trusted tools and evidence-based decisions. Over time,  we’ll count on you to lead data science activities from problem definition and data exploration through model development, validation, communication, and implementation, working independently when needed while contributing to shared goals across the Engine Control Systems function.

You can contribute to this role by exploring new approaches, developing your knowledge, and collaborating with colleagues across disciplines, cultures, and locations. We value initiative, constructive questioning, structured problem-solving, and openness to feedback and continuous learning.

Our Team Culture

We work in agile-inspired teams with strong collaboration and shared accountability. Our software and systems are designed with a focus on reliability, safety, and usability.

We value informal, open dialogue and support personal development. You’ll be working with skilled and motivated colleagues who are happy to share knowledge and learn from you. Our teams include people of many nationalities, and we foster a workplace where everyone feels welcome and included.

Unleash your potential: Join us towards a carbon-neutral future

Join us on our journey toward a carbon‑neutral future. At Everllence, you will help shape innovative energy solutions while growing your skills and advancing your career.

We prioritize work-life balance, flexible working hours and remote work options.

We value creativity, diversity, well‑being, and have a wide range of social clubs -from yoga and fishing to creative activities.

By the end of 2027, we will unite our Copenhagen and Holeby locations at a new and modern site in Trekroner, Roskilde. Our warehouse and production facilities are expected to move in 2029.
