We can offer you the following tasks
- Familiarization with the fundamentals of turbocharger compressor aerodynamics as well as numerical simulation methods (CFD)
- Development of computational models and execution of CFD simulations for a turbocharger compressor
- Parametric variant analysis of relevant component regions such as blade design and secondary flow passages
- Analysis of the resulting flow fields with regard to loss mechanisms and secondary flows
- Identification of optimization potentials in the investigated component regions
- Geometric modification and optimization of these regions using appropriate CFD methods
- Comparison and evaluation of the optimized geometry based on defined key performance indicators (e.g., efficiency, pressure ratio, mass flow, and
compressor map characteristics) - Evaluation, visualization, and interpretation of the simulation results
- Documentation and presentation of the results
You can help us with these qualifications
- Bachelor / Master Thesis in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering or similar
- Knowledge in turbomachinery / fluid dynamics
- Experience with numerical fluid dynamics (CFD)
- Basic knowledge in Linux and scripting (Python, Bash or similar) beneficial
