We can offer you the following tasks

The demand for improved shaft sealings in turbochargers is increasing due to the introduction of future fuels, which bring new challenges. These advanced sealing systems are necessary to ensure the efficiency and reliability of the machines and to minimize environmental impact. In this work, you will gain insights into various areas of engineering. Starting with numerical CFD simulations to understand the phenomena, investigating design concepts, detailing them, and exploring measurement technologies. Supported by experts:

• Building knowledge on high-speed shaft sealing systems and their testing methods
• Numerical pre- studies (CFD) on various sealing concepts
• Design a test module for integration into existing drive components
• Developing a digital twin (CFD) of the test module
• Selecting appropriate measurement methods

You can help us with these qualifications

• Degree in natural sciences with a focus on mechanical engineering or comparable
• General interest in engine/turbocharger systems, flow phenomena, and/or measurement technology
